Paigow-thumb Fortune Pai Gow Poker was first implemented as a method to North Americanize Pai Gow, the Asian domino game.  Unlike its foreign cousin, Pai Gow Poker is played with a standard deck of 52 playing cards and one Joker, referred to as the ‘bug’.  All players receive seven cards, which are divided into a two-card hand and a five-card hand with the overall objective being to have both hands better in ranking than the opponent’s two hands.  Players who win this portion of the game pay a 5% commission on all winning to the house.  The Fortune Bonus is an optional bet that rewards players for receiving hands of certain values.  The Envy Bonus is a feature of the Fortune Bonus game that allows players to receive payment if other players receive hands of certain values.  Commission is not taken from Fortune Bonus winnings.
