Bre X, a six-year-old gelding by Dal Reo Hop Sing out of
Punch Line, set the Fraser Downs track record Friday.
Lo Siento set the early fractions (27.1, 57, 1:25.3)
with Bre X as far back as fifth after the quarter. He
was first up, moving to fourth at the half and three
quarter marks, and then under strong urging from driver
Bill Davis, covered the last quarter in 27.2 to win by
six lengths.
The mile clocking was 1:53.3, knocking 1/5 second off
the former mark shared by Scruffy Ben, Hot Steam, Red
Star Admiral and Nazko Promise.
Haras Colta Cola (Armbro Operative-Celes Lady) was
second and Pee Tee O (Scruffy Hanover-Barbies Best)
third.
Bre X, who is owned by Kadence Stables of Coquitlam and
Tante Stables of New Westminster and trained by Wayne
Isbister, now has 11 wins in 23 starts in 2003. He has
earned more than $78,000 in 2003 and $274,566 lifetime.
