Langley Stable Fire

On June 1, 2014 a two alarm fire occurred on 224th Street near 40th Ave in Langley, British Columbia, resulting in the death of nearly 20 horses belonging to the JJJ Stables.

Great Canadian Gaming Corporation and Fraser Downs Racetrack and Casino are deeply saddened by this calamity. JJJ Stables, owned by Rick Mowles and managed by Bill Davis, have played an important role in the racing operations at Fraser Downs and the provincial racing industry.

We would like to express our deepest sympathies and condolences to Rick Mowles, the entire Davis family and all those impacted by the fire. This is the first time in our recollection that such an incident occurred causing unprecedented loss for the BC racing community.

In the days to come, Great Canadian Gaming Corporation and Fraser Downs Racetrack will be exploring opportunities to support JJJ Stables in their recovery process.

Sincerely,
Ken Stratton
